I have always found foundations really hit and miss, but these 4 that have been a dream to use. Let's dive right in!

Kat Von D Lock-It Liquid Foundation
There are tons and tons of thumbs up for this foundation and being a fan of Kat Von D, I knew I had to try it. Let's start by saying it is VERY matte so if you want something a bit more dewy.. this isn't for you. This gives full-coverage in just 1 or 2 drops which means it lasts a lifetime. I can wear this for hours and hours and still feel just as fresh as when I applied. It's extremely blendable and doesn't feel cakey in the slightest. The only slight issue I have found is when I am having a dry-skin day, it's not the best for camouflage. I really am a fan of this and will 100% re-purchase in the future. It's slightly more money than your average highstreet foundation, but still a great price and worth it. Cost is £27 and can be purchased online or in Debenhams where you can get a shade match. I was matched to the shade Light 44 Cool and I found this foundation to have the most shade options that I have ever seen. There's sure to be a shade anyone.

This is an oldy but a goldy and I can't see myself ever getting bored of this foundation. It's just easy to apply and really buildable for a full coverage. I love that it looks so light and natural and is perfect for everyday wear. This has been around for ages and has always been a hit. One thing I would always highly suggest, is purchasing a pump when buying (otherwise it can get a little messy). I have always replaced this straight away and found this to be my favourite of all the Nars products. Cost is £32 and I use the shade Deauville.

Everyone has used this foundation and although it seems like the typical foundation to say you love, it is really true. I much prefer this to the MAC Studio Waterweight and find it really good for "in a rush" makeup days. It's very natural looking and great for bad skin moments. I love the amount of "matte-ness" it creates without looking heavy. I use the shade NW13 and it costs £23.50.

When I'm just popping out or going to work, I tend to use Revlon Colourstay. It is long lasting and doesn't draw attention to problem areas. I find that a couple of pumps is enough for a full coverage, but is a little more time consuming when blending. I love the texture of this foundation and for £12.99 I'd say it was quite a bargain. I use the shade Buff and although I use this often, the bottle looks hardly touched.

  1. The Kat Von D has become my got to for full coverage; I think it's definitely worth the extra money because, like you, I think the bottle will last me ages!

  2. I'll have to try the Revlon at Kat Von D! It sounds like we have a similar skin type and I love both the Nars Sheer Glow and MAC Studio Fix!
